| Pitchfork | 7.3/10[1] |
Samuel Hyland of Pitchfork deemed I Look at Her and Light Goes All Through Me to be Photographic Memory's strongest effort to date, calling it a "delightfully dizzying collage of nu-gaze and SoundCloud rap". Hyland called "Heartstyle" the "most brilliant moment" on the album, and highlighted "Recently", a track featuring Gucci Mane's vocals over "what sounds like a scrapped Tired of Tomorrow demo", calling it "really, really beautiful". He also highlighted "twinkling synth stabs, soft acoustic pluckage, and the occasional pulsating kick" on "Clearly", "glitchy pathos" on album opener "Emo Tour Track", and "growling thrash" on the instrumental track "Love in My Heart".[1]
