Idris IV (Idrīs bin ʿAlī) was the mai of the Kanem–Bornu Empire in 1684–1699.[1]
Life
Idris was the son of Ali III,[2] who he succeeded as mai in 1684.[1] There were apparently few events of note in Idris's reign, and he was entirely omitted in some later chronicles and king lists.[3]
Idris was succeeded by his brother Dunama VII[2] in 1699.[1]
