Ramanan s/o Ramakrishnan (born 11 February 1981) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives in the administration of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and Minister Ewon Benedick since 2023.[1] He has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Sungai Buloh since 2022.[2]
A member of the People's Justice Party (PKR) since 2020, he holds the position of Deputy Information Chief within the party. A member of the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) until 2014, he held several leadership roles including treasurer-general when he left the party.[3]
He is also the chairman of the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (MITRA)'s Special Committee.[3]
Early life
Born Ramanan s/o Ramakrishnan, he was the eldest grandson of Devaki Krishnan, the first woman elected to public office in Malaysia.[4][5]
