This poetic form was created by Ramapurathu Warrier, a poet in Malayalam lived in Travancore (later became a part of Kerala) during the reign of the king Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma. This poem later became the famous poetic collection Kuchelavritham Vanchippattu. [1]
