Akif Iqbal is a serving two-star general in the Pakistan Army, currently serves as the Director General of Counterterrorism (DGCT) at the Inter-Services Intelligence headquarters in Rawalpindi, Islamabad.[1]
Career
Iqbal commissioned in 37 Punjab Regiment 84th PMA Long Course in 1991. He was promoted to the rank of Major General from Brigadier in 2019. He currently serves as Director General of Counterterrorism (DGCT) at ISI headquarter.[1]
He was awarded with Hilal-i-Imtiaz for his service in the army from the President of Pakistan, Arif Ali.[2]
