Alawattegama is a village that is located within Kandy District of Sri Lanka's Central Province.
History
Archibald Campbell Lawrie describes the village in his 1896 gazetteer as a "Duraya" village, with inhabitants of "Panna Durayo" (grass cutters).[2]
