Budry [ˈbudrɨ] is a village in Węgorzewo County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland, close to the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia.[1] It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Budry. It lies approximately 10 km (6 mi) north-east of Węgorzewo and 105 km (65 mi) north-east of the regional capital Olsztyn. It is located in the historic region of Masuria.
History
Budry was founded in 1565.[2]
In the late 19th century, the village had a population of 778, predominantly Polish by ethnicity, mostly employed in agriculture.[3]
