The Minor Basilica and Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Saint Paul of the Cross is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Marikina, Metro Manila, Philippines.

History

The Diocesan Shrine of Saint Paul of the Cross was established as a parish in 1975. It was run by the Passionist priests until it was turned over to the Diocese of Antipolo in 2004.[1]

It was elevated to a diocesan shrine on March 19, 2021.[2]

It was elevated to a minor basilica on May 13, 2025 by Pope Leo XIV at the request of Antipolo bishop Ruperto Cruz Santos filed in December 2024.[1]

Devotion

The Venerated image of Nuestra Señora de Fatima de Marikina which was pontifically crowned in May 12, 2024

The church is the oldest in the Philippines to be dedicated to the Catholic saint, Paul of the Cross.[3] The church is also the host of the pontifically crowned image of the Nuestra Señora de Fatima de Marikina, which was pontifically crowned by Pope Francis in 2024.[1]
