Harakat al-Abdal (Arabic: حركة الأبدال, romanized: Harakat al-Abdal, lit. 'The Replacements Movement') is an Iraqi militant group. It fought in the Syrian civil war.
History
It was founded in 2014 in southern Iraq to battle Islamic State.[2] That year, it extended its operations to Syria in Aleppo and Nubl.[4] In 2016 they launched attacks on Al Tanf and surroundings, but they were repelled.[5] They are part of Popular Mobilization Forces such as the 39th Division.[1]
