Mizni Dol (pronounced [ˈmiːzni ˈdoːu̯]) is a small settlement in the hills west of Vrhnika in the Inner Carniola region of Slovenia.[2]
Name

The former hamlet that Mizni Dol is centered around is called Mizendol.[3] The name—literally 'table valley'—is a compound. The first part is derived from the common noun miza 'table',[4] and the second part, dol, refers to a depression or (dry) valley. Mizni Dol is located in a relatively flat dry valley.
History
The independent settlement of Mizni Dol was created in 2002, when the territory was separated from the settlement of Zaplana.[5] Prior to this, Mizni Dol was a hamlet of Zaplana.[3]
