Osmium(III) tribromide is a binary inorganic compound with the chemical formula OsBr
3.[1]
Synthesis
Decomposition of osmium tetrabromide under vacuum heating:
- 2OsBr4 → 2OsBr3 + Br2
Physical properties
The compound forms dark-grey crystals.[2] Insoluble in water.[3]
