Umer Ahmed Shah is a serving two-star general in the Pakistan Army, currently serving as the Director General of Special Communication Organization (DG SCO).[1][2]
Career
Shah commissioned in 2 Signal Battalion through PMA Short Course. He was promoted to the rank of Major General from Brigadier in 2021.[3]
He is currently serving as Director General of Special Communication Organization (DG SCO), Rawalpindi.[1][4] Under the leadership of Shah, SCO has launched a new Freelancing Hub in Haveli, AJ&K, reflecting his vision to empower youth and promote digital inclusion.[5] Shah also launched an initiative to launch free-lancing hub for the physically challenged people. He also met with the top civilian officials to resolve connectivity issues of several regions of Gilgit-Baltistan.[6][7]
He has been awarded with Hilal-i-Imtiaz for his service in the army from the President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.[8]
