One hundred and one people, one hundred male and one female, were executed in the United States in 1951, eighty by electrocution, fourteen by gas chamber, five by hanging, and two by firing squad.[1] This is the most recent year where at least a hundred people were executed in the United States - the closest total during the post-Gregg era was in 1999, where nearly a hundred people were executed.
